This set is a love letter to retro gaming, and lighting it turns a 479-piece display into a neon-soaked shrine. The market currently offers a single, budget-conscious kit that focuses on core zones—think power LED, cartridge glow, and controller accents. With no frills like remote or RGB, it's a pure, classic approach. Prices sit tight at $23.98, which is about 60% of the set's MSRP, a reasonable ratio for the effect. Wiring uses modular micro-LEDs for clean concealment, a smart choice for a compact build. Compared to larger sets with expansion boards, this kit's simplicity is its strength, letting the iconic black and gray pop without gadgetry.
As the solo option in this lineup, BrickBling's kit opens at $23.98, focusing on key zones like the power indicator, cartridge slot, and controller ports. It uses modular micro-LEDs with clean concealment wiring, and since only one variant exists, you get a no-frills single edition. This kit is perfect for purists who want a classic, static glow that honors the original hardware without any modern fuss.
Lighting kits and display add-ons are custom third-party accessories produced independently. They are not manufactured, sponsored, or endorsed by the LEGO Group.
