The LEGO Technic Ferrari FXX K (42212) is a striking display piece, but it truly comes alive with the right lighting. We've compared the two main LED kits on the market to help you decide. Lightailing offers a budget-friendly, pre-soldered harness that's quick to route, while BrickBling provides a modular micro-LED system with options for remote control. Both kits illuminate the aggressive bodywork, engine bay, and rear diffuser, but they differ in wiring philosophy and price. Here's the breakdown.
BrickBling's kit sits at the premium end of the market, starting at $29.98, and focuses on highlighting the FXX K's aggressive aero and intricate engine bay. It uses modular micro-LEDs for clean concealment, and you can choose between the Classic Version at $29.98 or a Remote Control Version at $39.98. This setup is best for builders who love tinkering with separate light modules and want the flexibility of remote-controlled lighting zones.
Lightailing's kit starts at $26.99, making it the most affordable option, and it shines a spotlight on the FXX K's sleek lines and front intakes. It features a pre-soldered integrated harness, which means fewer separate pieces to manage, and it comes in a single standard edition without remote options. This kit is best for builders who want a straightforward, no-frills lighting solution that gets the job done efficiently.
Lighting kits and display add-ons are custom third-party accessories produced independently. They are not manufactured, sponsored, or endorsed by the LEGO Group.
