Lego Knockturn Alley Wizarding Shops 76471

Welcome to Knockturn!

This is the LEGO Harry Potter 76471 Knockturn Alley Wizarding Shops set, featuring 788 pieces of sinister charm. The initial facade hints at the modularity and hidden depths within. With an overall width of 7.5 inches (19.1 cm) and depth of 7.5 inches (19.1 cm), its footprint fits perfectly on any display shelf. The price per piece is 15¢.

Expand Your Wickedness

The modular design reveals itself, showcasing the ability to reconfigure the shops and peek inside. We see glimpses of fully detailed interiors, even an exciting suggestion of combining it with set 76452 for an even grander alley. This back-of-the-box view teases the play features and display possibilities.

A Sinister Street Scene

Here we have Potages's Cauldron Shop standing alongside Borgin and Burkes, creating a complete section of Knockturn Alley. Notice the varied roof lines and the SNOT techniques used for the intricate signwork above each storefront. The dark teal windows of Borgin and Burkes lend a suitably eerie glow.

The Alley's Inhabitants

A rich cast of characters populates our alley, each minifigure a distinct personality. From Ron, Hermione, and Harry to Draco Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, and two new characters, each is clad in period-appropriate attire. The inclusion of the translucent blue Patronus dog is a delightful NPU.

Minifigs, Fully Equipped

Now we see our minifigures fully equipped with their various accessories, ready for their roles in Knockturn Alley. Wands, potions, the Vanishing Cabinet, a skull, and the 'Secrets of the Darkest Art' book enhance storytelling. The spider and bat add subtle greebling to the scene.

Endless Alley Combinations

Here, our Knockturn Alley shops connect to the larger Diagon Alley sets, specifically 76452. The clever Pin connections allow for seamless integration, expanding the wizarding world. This shows the thoughtful modularity, creating a wider, more immersive street.

Expecto Patronum!

Ron Weasley casts a powerful Patronus charm, depicted by the translucent blue dog element. The glow effect around his wand uses simple but effective printed pieces. This moment captures a key magical spell, ready to ward off any Dementors lurking in the alley.

Trapped in the Cabinet

Poor Harry, accidentally transported into Borgin and Burkes via the Floo Network, now hides inside the Vanishing Cabinet. This NPU of the cabinet as a hidden nook is a clever play feature, adding depth to the shop's interior. It demonstrates SNOT for the smooth cabinet exterior.

Shops Laid Bare

The modular buildings swing open to reveal their detailed interiors, showcasing various magical artifacts and potion ingredients. Borgin and Burkes, with its eerie green-windowed displays, contrasts with the more chaotic potion-making station of Potages. This open configuration invites immersive play.

Shady Dealings Ahead

The entrance to Borgin and Burkes is captured here, with its distinctive circular windows and the 'Borgin & Burkes est. 1833' sign, a nod to wizarding history. Draco Malfoy converses with an older gentleman, perhaps negotiating a dark artifact. The 'Wanted' poster adds a touch of greebling.

Hands-On Construction

We see the set mid-construction, spread across a warm wooden table. This gives a sense of the scale and the manageable sub-assemblies that make up the shops. The clear instruction manual on the tablet is a testament to the build experience.

Immersive Storytelling

Our young builder engages with the opened set, bringing the minifigures to life within the detailed interiors. This highlights the set's playability and how the modular open-close function facilitates storytelling. It’s a complete narrative environment.

A Complete Streetscape

The assembled Knockturn Alley stands ready, its architectural variety and character detailing forming a compelling display piece. From the Potages sign to the dark aesthetics of Borgin and Burkes, every element contributes to its immersive presence. This set offers both intricate building techniques and enduring display value for any wizarding collection.
